Improved quality of life
Supporting Accommodation for Vulnerable Victorians Initiative (SAVVI) is a Victorian Government initiative which provides funding and other assistance to support vulnerable Victorians living in pension-level Supported Residential Service (SRS) accommodation.
SAVVI has two components:
- Facility cost relief funding supports six SRS providers to maintain their facilities and uphold a high standard of resident care. Grants have been used for facility upgrades, maintenance and safety, extra staff and training, and items such as games, bedding and heating and cooling appliances.
- The Supporting Connections program involves our staff working with SRS proprietors to identify residents’ unmet social and health needs and link them to appropriate services so that they can enjoy a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle. Examples of activities and services provided include specialised health assessments, chiropractic footwear, holidays, holiday items (clothing, luggage) and access to sporting teams and events.
Both programs have added significantly to the quality of life of vulnerable Victorians living in supported residential accommodation.
