Building social connections
If you are a male aged 18-60 years with an Acquired Brain Injury and living in central Victoria and surrounds our ABI program may be for you.
This program, funded by Bendigo Health, helps clients build social connections and extend their friendship networks through organised group social and recreational activities. Examples include meal and movie outings, day trips to the zoo, attending an AFL football match, go-karting, fishing, ten pin bowling and overnight stays at various locations.
To join the program, you must be referred by a support agency such as Bendigo Community Health, the Transport Accident Commission or a Supported Residential Service.
You will be grouped into a network of up to 15 men based on the nature of your ABI and your individual capabilities, and invited to participate in a range of group activities.
Clients range from those who live independently in the community to those living in a supported accommodation environment who may have mobility issues or an intellectual disability.
