A place to call home

In 2005, Haven (then known as Loddon Mallee Housing Services) became Victoria’s first Affordable Housing Association.  

The Affordable Housing program makes renting a home more affordable for people on low to moderate incomes by offering a 10-30% discount on the usual market rent of a property.   

Through our offices in Bendigo, Geelong, Robinvale and Mildura, we currently manage more than 1000 1-4 bedroom properties.

Our homes and units, many less than 10 years old, are located in a range of regional, suburban and metropolitan centres, from Warrnambool to Traralgon and Mildura to Geelong.

Each year, our property portfolio grows as we build new homes. Most recently, this has included: 

• 98 new 1-3BR apartments in Tram Road, Doncaster
• 23 new 1-2 BR apartments in Chapel Road, Bendigo
• 30 new 1-2 BR units in Mt Alexander Road, North Essendon       

Am I eligible? 

To apply for affordable housing, you must: 

• Be on a low to moderate income (up to $90,816 per household)
• Live in or have links to the area you are applying for
• Have less than $30,000 in assets.

How do I apply 

Click here to find out whether you are eligible then download the PDF. Please include all the requested information.  You can drop your completed form into the Bendigo, Mildura, Robinvale or Geelong office or send it to us by post, fax or email ahaapplications@haven.org.au   

What happens next? 

If your registration is successful, we will add your details to our database and consider you for any upcoming properties.   

Please note that we do not have a waiting list where houses are allocated 'by turn'. When property vacancies arise, we review our applicant database and select the person or family who is the best match for that property.   

While we try to house as many people as possible, we simply do not have enough properties to meet demand.
